Why the Earth is flat

All my life I have been taught that the Earth is round. However, I have found new evidence that the world is in fact, flat. The Earth is flat because when ships are sailing across the ocean, they slowly disappear over the horizon but you are still able to see the tops of the sails. Another piece of evidence that the Earth is flat is that the shape of the curved shadow of the Earth on the moon during eclipses. In the bible, it states that if you stand on top of a mountain, you can see the whole world. You could only do that if the world was flat. Based off of Eratosthenes’ measurement, there is variation of the sun’s elevation with latitude. Also, there’s a variation of a star’s elevation with latitude. If one sees new stars as one moves north or south, it’s on the Earth’s flat surface. Another reason why the world is flat is when one drives, they drive in a straight line that is flat.  If the Earth was round, the cars would fall off the Earth. It makes sense that the Earth is flat because we’re all still standing straight and not falling off.
